November Surfing in Sitges

Surfing in Sitges

Aiguadolc beach was treated to a hot Surfing display late yesterday evening when some Australian boys took on the waves of Sitges. The weather was a beautiful 23 degrees yesterday, but the water looked quite cold.

Still though the boys came out smiling, even if they were bemused at their photos being taken! And no they're not local… just here for a few days rest!

Surfing in Sitges = Lovely

Port Sitges/Aiguadolc often sees lots of Spanish boys surfing… but these boys were really good!

Windsurfing, Para-Sailing and Jet-Skis can all be arranged via any of the operators by the port. [Official Port Website]

A day out in Vilanova – Vilanova November Fair

On the way to Vilanova

Sitges is a great town for relaxing and partying… but somtimes every Gay boy needs a little distraction. Vilanova is a busy port town approximately 15 minutes drive from Sitges. Avoid the motorway and take the C-246a; the route is far more pleasant as you can see from the shots below. You pass some stunning mountain views of Sitges and a beautiful little winery on the way.

On the way to Vilanova

The entrance to the winery… almost a Monet like quality.

A visit to Montserrat

Montserrat

site of a Benedictine abbey, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth. So for all those Da Vinci Code Fans.. its a must.

Montserrat

The name “Montserrat” literally means “jagged mountain” and is used because of the peculiar aspect of the edifice, which is visible from a great distance.

Montserrat

The abbey can be reached by road, by cable car, or by the Montserrat Rack Railway from Monistrol in the valley below, which in turn can be reached by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya train from Barcelona's Plaça d'Espanya station.

Tuaca – totally different, totally delicious.

Tuaca Sitges

Our post yesterday on Beaujolais Nouveau had us thinking about one of our favourite topics… alcohol! A real hot trend in Spain now, and especially in Barcelona and Sitges is Tuaca.

Legend has it that Lorenzo De Medici created an exquisite amber liqueur that became a favourite among 16th century Italian nobility. The recipe was lost for may centuries until Tuscan Brothers-in-law Geatano Tuoni and Giorgio Canepa re-discovered it and improved it even further in the 1940's.

The liquor has a brandy base with a delicious blend of vanilla and orange and has a beautiful amber glow. It can be enjoyed as a straight shot or a slammer (very popular in Sitges at the moment) or try it in your coffee or savour it on the rocks after a good meal!

Beaujolais Nouveau comes to Sitges.

Beaujolais Nouveau , Sitges

La Locacola will be one of the first bars in Sitges to serve the delicious Beaujolais Nouveau. Its a traditional European race to be the first to serve Beaujolais Nouveau, which can not be served before the third Thursday in November.

La Locacola is a lovely little gay bar on C. Bonaire. Intimate and friendly it is the perfect place to begin your night out in Sitges. So take a break from all of the Cava and pop in for a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau on Thurs the 16th of Nov.

A handful of Firemen under your tree!

Firemen, Bilbao, Gay Sitges

Yesterday we featured some interesting Christmas presents from Sitges… well how about a whole troop of Firemen?

The latest shots from the Bilbao Firemen's Calendar have been released and they look as good as the first set!

The Perfect Gay Christmas Present

The Perfect Present Gay Sitges

So you've decided to come to Sitges for Christmas or New Year…. then hold off on buying your presents at home and come and do your shopping in Sitges and Barcelona.

The depth and range of choice in the shops here is simply amazing. And with Sitges being such a gay place… the shops really know what you want and how you want it!

Lukalimiti, Jewelery, Sitges

If you're looking for some ideas then why not a beautiful piece of Jewelery. From your traditional gold chain to some really stunning designer rings we recommend you visit Lukalimiti. Let's face it, what Gay Boy doesn't fancy wearing a nice big of bling now and again!

Lukalimiti, Jewelery, Sitges

But what do you get for the man who has everything? Well a little shop on C. Mayor in Sitges may have the answer. Pigmalion has been selling beautiful one-off “arty” pieces for a while now in Sitges. You are guaranteed to find something unique in this store. Think Greco-Roman statues, bronze busts.. etc… but tastefully done. Its worth just window-shopping alone to see some of the beautiful items they have in-store.

Dive, Sitges, G-Star Jeans.

Of course, you have to look your best.. so why not hit the clothes stores and shop 'till you drop. We recommend Dive who stock the complete range of fabulous G-Star Jeans as well as several other brands. No excuse to not look your very best!

Unwrap.

No matter what… be sure you have something lovely to unwrap on Christmas Day… .Yummmm…..
