Gay Sitges Guide at Gay Sitges Pride 2010

Hello everyone from Gay Pride Sitges… after a weekend of amazing work, fun and partying, its all about to end tonight with the Closing Party at the Gay Beach Party at L’Atlantida!

We are still waiting on official numbers, but no matter where you go or who you listen to, it was amazing, packed solid and a runaway success! To all those who said it would never happen… well.. thanks for the compliments over the past few days… and that is about as political as we get on Gay Sitges Guide!

A huge thank you to the Mayors Office, The Tourism Office, The Afgal Board, Afgal President Luis Enriquez, the volunteers and the businesses and people of Sitges who supported the event from the very beginning!

Our own special thanks to Miss Ruby and Lady Diamond whose dedication over Maspalomas and Barcelona Pride along with their spectacular performances at Gay Pride Sitges 2010 was nothing short of breathtaking.

The weather was perfect, the pride parade was amazing.. words simply can not describe the feeling in Sitges at the moment. As Lady Diamond said to a packed Paseo in Sitges.. Its like Christmas, Carnival and Fiesta Mayor all rolled into one!

And if you hear anyone telling you otherwise, they were either in the wrong town or the wrong mood..because the you would have to be crazy not to have enjoyed yourself in a FULL Sitges this Pride, as these photos prove.

Speaking of Photos, we had 2 photographers specially commissioned to cover the event as we did have our own float which made it difficult to give everyone coverage, so bear with us as we upload more than 4,000 photos of the event. Gay Pride Sitges also had an additional 6 photographers, plus the official press core, 5 television stations and a dedicated video team which will post content over the next week!

Finally, a huge thank you to my partner Andy for supporting me personally over the past year’s trials and tribulations to ensure that Pride was a success. I am proud to say that his donation of our company’s time and resources to AFGAL , together with the efforts of Luis Enriquez and the dedicated members of the AFGAL Board played a small part in making a little bit of Sitges History. Gay Pride Sitges – Official Launch

Sitges very first Pride was launched formally on Friday the 9th of July at the hotel Calipolis.

Members of the press mingled with TV crews, local personalities, members of the council and tourism offices as well as AFGAL board members and volunteers.

With more than 12 months advance preparations, meetings and reviews, it was great to finally see the Pride festivities begin with the launch and the planned 5 days of events, parties and festivities.

Gay Pride Sitges aims to set a new benchmark for tolerance and tourism, working with the town to promote the ideals of Pride together with the fun and celebratory atmosphere for which Sitges is renowned.

Sitges is Sold Out – Its Official

Here is our first official Pride Photo.. and the event doesn’t kick off until 5pm this evening… But it appears that won’t stop Sitges from Partying on the night before any official celebration.

The town was full of people from around the world looking to have a great night out. “Its like the middle of August” one bar owner told us. And that is backed-up by the latest figures from the tourism office as reported by National Newspaper La Vanguardia.

Remember Tonight.. its the official Launch Party with Abba the Show (Amazing, even if you are not a big Abba Fan)..followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Then off to D E C A D A N S E .. the “Party in the Park” with outdoor foam party, cruising area and much, much more..

Pride UPDATE – Sunday Gay Village in Sitges Open ’till 2am

Congratulations to Spain last night on their Victory over Germany. As the final takes place in the middle of Sitges Pride on Sunday, the Entire Pride Stage will give way to a huge screen that will broadcast the match from the seafront!

Gay Beach Party – Sitges Pride Warm Up Party

Tuesday night saw the kick off to Pride warm-up week as guys from around the world make their way to Sitges.

L’Atlantida will host 2 special parties for Pride this year.

On Sunday afternoon, the Circuit Festival will host a T-Dance with BBQ from 5pm until 12am.. Last year this event was one of the hottest parties of the season in August.. and now you get to enjoy it once more during Sitges Pride.

You can still get some tickets online at www.gaypridesitges.com. Tickets purchased will be held for collection at the Ticket Point in the Gay Village.

The Gay Beach Party is also hosting a closing night party of Pride on Tuesday the 13th of July.

Tickets are also on sale online or can be purchased at the door.

Sitges Pride Warm-up week at Parrots Pub..

If you want to get a feel for how busy the town is stating to get, then just try and get a seat at Parrots Pub and Terrace in the evening…

The weather is scorching in Sitges at the moment, so what better way to cool down than to sip a cocktail in Parrots during the late afternoon.

The Pub and Terrace is set to be transformed this weekend as the Cage Aux Folles comes to Parrots Group.

Sitges Pride Warm-up Week at Privilege..

The excitement is building in Sitges as people arrive for a two-week vacation to take in Sitges Pride from the 9th to the 13th of July.

Guys from around the world were dancing the night away in Privilege. Ticket sales for the main parties are selling fast, so reserve your ticket today and collect it at the Gay Village on Friday.

Sitges Pride Cultural Program

The Sitges Pride Cultural Program was formally launched on Sunday at the Hotel Romantic on Sunday evening with a lecture on Gay Film, hosted by Alberto Mira, Lecturer in European Film from Oxford.

Later on, on Sunday evening at the stunning Miramar Art Gallery, “The Fradogo Women” exhibition was formally launched. The exhibition will remain open throughout the Pride from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm. A commemorative limited edition print for Pride is available for purchase with proceeds going to the Lucia Foundation helping children with Aids in Barcelona.
