Sant Jordi / St Georges Day Sitges 2012

Sitges Paseo today awoke to stalls along the seafront selling books and roses in honour of St George’s Day.

The celebration could not be simpler: the ritual consists of going for a walk and buying a rose, a book or both to give to loved ones, family members and friends.

The origin of this unusual festival can be found in a mixture of traditions and customs from different periods. The fact that Saint George (Sant Jordi) is the patron saint of Catalonia (officially since 1456) coincides with another medieval custom of celebrating a Rose Fair or “Lovers’ Fair” at the Palau de la Generalitat.

Happy St Georges Day from Sitges.

ES Collection launches “Get it on” World Tour at Hotel Axel Barcelona.

Thursday night saw the launch of ES Collection’s “Get it on party”…

The World Tour will take in some of the hottest clubs and events around the world.

The Axel hotel hosted the event featuring some famous guests, beautiful boys and the glitterati of the Barcelona scene.

Restaurant L’Ambassade Sitges – French Cuisine & Cabaret

L’Ambassade restaurant opened its doors just before Pride last year.

The restaurant was an instant hit, with its Parisienne inspired cuisine and professional cabaret shows.

The restaurant is located right by the Sitges seafront, on Psg Ribera, just a stones-throw from the church.

Diamonds and Celebrities at Parrots Terrace this Easter..

Lady Diamond literally stopped all foot traffic on Plz Industria this Easter Sunday. She even had a special guest with none other than John-Paul Gaultier dropping by to see the show.

It was her first outing at the terrace and an event which will return for the Summer Season.

It was standing room only on the streets of Sitges as the bar was full of people eager to watch the new show.

It was an eclectic mix of old and new songs, some crazy competitions and a great atmosphere which is sure to make this event one not to miss when you visit this season.
