Europe’s No 1 Gay Festival

Barcelona hosts the Circuit Festival in August each year. The event has grown to become one of the most important gay events in the Summer calendar and attracted more than 70,000 visitors last year. Many of those visiting spent their days by the beach in Sitges and the nights partying in Barcelona.

The Event

Saturday 9th August to Sunday 17th August 2025.

Tens of thousands descend on Barcelona each August for a full week of all-night parties, rooftop takeovers, and sun-drenched beach recovery days. Expect huge sound systems, shirtless crowds, and DJs flown in from across the globe.

Eixample is closest to most parties, but Sitges is a favourite base for those who want beach time by day and parties by night. Trains and night buses link the two, so you can rest up away from the chaos and still make it back for sunrise.

Don’t miss Sitges August Holiday Festival Pool Party on Friday 15th August, a national holiday. The event is set in a unique venue, a private villa with Olympic size pool, stunning grounds and just 10-mintues bus (free transport provided) from Sitges.

The Waterpark Day

Tuesday August 12th 2025 – The Waterpark day is one of the biggest events to take place during the Circuit Festival attracting more than 70,000 people.

Getting to Circuit Events to and from Sitges.

Late-night warning: Circuit party events often run past midnight; public trains don’t operate after about 23:00. Taxis from central Barcelona back to Sitges cost ~€70 and Uber may not always operate in Sitges.

Sitges → Barcelona via Renfe Rodalies R2Sud (direct commuter trains). 30–40 min ride, fares around €4–5.

Night Bus Option: MonBus (N30)

MonBus operates a direct night bus (N30 line or similar MonBus night services) from central Barcelona (Plaça Catalunya / Gran Via stop) to Sitges. Journey takes approximately 35–45 minutes, cheaper than taxis and independent of train schedules.

Operates hourly until early morning (around 05:45 AM) Night Bus Times from Sitges → Barcelona → Return: From Sitges: ~00:27, 01:07, 02:07, 03:17, 04:13 (approx)

Bus Garraf Return pick‑up in Barcelona around Gran Via / Pl. Espanya/Catalunya between ~00:30 up to ~05:00 AM – check MonBus for exact times.

Train Option:

Rodalies R2 Sud Standard commuter trains from Sitges → Barcelona (Paseo de Gràcia) run until about 23:00–23:30.

Frequency: every 20–30 minutes; journey ~35 min; fare ~€4–5 (R2 Sud) – check Renfe for exact times.
