To: 23rd of September 2025
Fireworks take place on the 22nd.
The traditional “Nit de Foc” or night of fire,
takes place on the Saturday the week before.
Santa Tecla is one of Sitges most important festivals after Fiesta Mayor, celebrating the Patron Saint of the Parish Church. The event takes place at the end of September complete with an amazing firework display on the beach.
Santa Tecla is a smaller version of the Sitges Fiesta Mayor! However, it is no less important, or loved! It is a big event for Sitgeans with the Church of Santa Tecla forming the backdrop of the key events.

The Event
- Next Edition: Friday 19th September – Tuesday 22nd September, 2025.
- Santa Tecla is Sitges’ co-patron festival, centered on the parish church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla.
- The core dates are the 22nd and 23rd of September. These dates are set and do not change.
- Santa Tecla grew as a local mirror of the late-summer Festa Major: more family-led parades, dances, and a full beach fireworks show on the night of the 22nd. Events kick off with the “Nit de Foc” fire-parade, typicall held on the Saturday before the main celebrations.
- Expect lots of noisey fireworks and stunning casteller perormances, as they make taller and taller human towers in the centre of town, Cap De La Vila.
- Each afternoon and evening, mythical Catalan characters dance their way through the town in a full traditional folkloric procession which includes the Bull, Dragon, Devil, Giant and Turk Dances.
Key Dates
- Saturday 20th September – Nit de Foc fire-run at night through the old town and seafront. Dress for sparks.
- Monday 22nd September – 11:00 pm beach fireworks from La Punta/Fragata/breakwaters along Passeig de la Ribera.
- Tuesday 23rd September – Morning mass and civic procession; children’s “matinal” with giants, dragons, and dances through the streets.
Best places to Watch the Fireworks
- Arrive on the sand by 10:00 pm or on the balustrade of Passeig de la Ribera by 10:30 pm; hold your place once you’ve got a clear line to La Fragata and the church. Bring a blanket and some cava and enjoy.
- Viewing beaches that frame the show: Ribera/Fragata for the “front-row”; San Sebastià for a side angle with the church in the frame; Balmins for a wider panorama.
